please help while I was playing a cd in media player 7 the computer froze when I restarted it all I could get when the desktop was almost loaded was a fatal exception error
fatal exception oe 0028:c0005338 vxd vmm(01) 00004338 or I get the message windows protection error restart your computer
any help will be greatly appreciated

Both of these errors are driver-related. Wish you could tell me what hardware you're running. There's an article on vxd vmm errors and another on windows protection errors at www.techtony.com. It also tells you how to fix them. Win Media Player 7 messes with the VCACHE so you may have to download cacheman or uninstall med play 7.
