i get that stuff alot, its a windows flaw (1 of 100000000000000000000000000000000) there isnt much you can do about it, however, if you get it like constatly you may try a full scandisk and defrag..those help cut down on those errors

Howdy, Try disabling norton or uninstall it and see if the problem persist. If it does not let me know.

I get the Fatal Exception too (VXD VMM (06)+ 00002799, and disabling Norton doesn't seem to help much. Mine comes at a cold boot. Restart seems to be ok, at least most of the time.

I can't help you to much with the fatal exception error, there are many other posts that discuss this kind of error at great length, but I can tell you why the system is looking for vxd files.
Vmm32.vxd is custom built during setup and contains many other drivers that are that are required by your system. When you extacted it from the installation disk you overwrote the cutom built copy with a baseline copy that does not contain all the drivers required by your system.

You need to either extract all of the files that the system lists as missing (probably dozens) to the c:\windows\system\vmm32 subfolder or I recommend that you run setup again
