Every time I try opening a picture with .jpg file i get this error. When I try to press any key to terminate the current application it wont let me. I have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and restart the computer. It just started doing this recently. I can open pictures in other files other than .jpg. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a quick cheap fix try running scandisk and defrag utilities. Clean up the system a little bit. I find that 80% of all blue screens and fatal errors can be prevented or fixed by weekly PC maintance.

You don't mention what software you are using to view the jpg's.(Are you using your browser to view images??) It sounds like a bad dll file within the software package. I suggest trying to reinstall the software, or download another software package. Irfanview is a great freeware program for viewing images. You can get it at most freeware sites.
