I am building an AMD Atholon 900 Thunderbird system. I get all of my drivers loaded and get start to put programs on the system when the blue screen of death appears with the following:
A Fatal Exception OE occured at 0028:c004D98E in VXD VCACHE(01) + 000003B2
sometimes it will allow me to continue installing sometimes it shuts the installation down and sometimes it freezes the PC all together.
I have 2 CD roms one is a SCII
Everything runs well once you can get things installed but when installing I have the problems.

Problems with the file cache vxd. These things occur when a driver cannot find resources available in the range it needs. Quick solution -- load the OS with a minimum of IO cards, peripherals. Background on the vxd problem in an article at www.techtony.com
