Hi there, I would appreciate help on the following three errors, which occur during or shortly after start-up of Windows 95 on a MMX machine:
OE 014F:BFFBA87E
OD 014F:BFF78374
OE 0028:C000391B

Thanks

Hi Alex,

OE errors are page faults and the OD error is a general protection fault. The codes after the error types are actual addresses where the exceptions occured.

Are you getting all three of these fatals or just one of them? It is certainly not good news to be getting a fatal on bootup.

Does it happen in safe mode?

Possibly could have bad clusters at the front end of your HD. A simple way to check this is to boot to a command prompt and run scandisk 16-bit in DOS. Commence with a surface scan so it maps the HD on the screen. If you have bad clusters at the beginning of the chart, this needs tending to.

Thanks for the reply "vito@supanet.com"!

Yes indeed, I am getting all three at startup. The surface scan seems to show OK results. What I have done is: I have replaced the Motherboard and CPU for the moment and it seems fine...

However, it gives me another error, which I do not have the code for on me, while working in Outlook Express and I have just clicked on "Send" and then attempted to Print through File>>Print.

Otherwise at least it boots up now, however I am going to need to replace the faulty MB or CPU, which one do you think is more likely to be giving problems (if any)?

Thanks again!
