Does anyone know what the following error means?:
A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0117:00005B80
Then it goes on to say all the other usual stuff about terminating the program. I usually recieve this error when I'm trying to shut down my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jenny, it sounds like your system resources are running low. By that I mean ram or hard drive space. Check those first. I would add ram first to see if it helps because it is much cheaper than a bigger hard drive.

I think I just cured a problem like yours. The computer is a PII 400 with lots of RAM and Hard Disk space. Every time he would restart, that fatal exception would be taken. I went in to the BIOS,AMI in this case, and changed the cache setting from "Write Back" to "Write Through". Now he can restart OK.
