Are you on a network. This looks like a network error message. NWREDIR I think stands for Network Redirector but I am not sure. If you are on a network, try unistalling all protocals and your network adapter and reinstalling them after rebooting the PC.

This is in response to Jason Large (Response 3) and his fatal exception of:
vxd vfat(01) + 0000b897

There is a fix for this available at Microsoft, and is a bug in 95, 98 and 98SE. Check out this link: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q256/0/15.asp

Enjoy,
~Gary

Can anyone help? Fatal Exception OE 0028;c0005338 in VXDVMM (01) + 00004338
It only happens after working on the computer for about an hour or more. Sounds like something begins to run in the background. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Having same problem as: Fatal Exception Error 0E at 0028:000A488. MB is FIC VA503+ w/AMD-K6II/500 cpu, one 128 mb sdram simm. One reference says this is a page fault error. General symptom is that system deteriorates with the reboot process. Shut down never is right, blue screen of death when you least expect it. Am following the microsoft reference:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q256/0/15.asp

which is the best lead I have had so far. Appreciate any emails regarding same. Steak dinner for permanent fix where I can enjoy machine and not dread facing it again :-).

I'm getting a fatal exception error 0028:C0047243 in VXD VFAT(01) + 00005A87. It occurs at start up after I install my modem in my new system (Abit KA7-100, AMD K7 750). It happens when the operating system recognizes the new hardware and begins installing the drivers for it. Any ideas?? Please email me. Thanks.
