When booting up my Daiwoo pentium 3 running 128 megs of ram I get a message: "A fatal exception 0D has occurred at 2047:00000316. The current application will be terminated." The screen goes to the normal windows 98 load screen and freezes. The system runs in safe mode. I have tried to start the system by okaying the individual lines of the boot up program without much success. When I go to the Microsoft support site I don't find the exact fatal exception error message that I am receiving. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I can partially explain your problem, but it could be a nuber of things causeing it. To briefly discribe the fatal exception error codes...the first two digits (OD in your case) is the code actual processor exception (in your case 0D means something has caused a General Protection Fault). The remaining string or characters represents is the actual pointer to the RAM address where the exception happened. This particular code confirms that whatever has been running in that section of memory has become corrupt and unrecoverable. A common cause of these particular errors are faulty RAM modules. Try and get your hands on another stick of RAM just to try. There are some other things to try that are too long to mention here. If you are still having problems, e-mail me and I'll get you sorted.
