As soon as I click on Folder under "File ---> New" in Windows Explorer I get a fatal page fault error module "unknown" (big help). I tried other ways to create a new folder and same thing. It seemed to happen at some point after installing MS Publisher 2000, Corel Knockout or Quicktime video viewer. I uninstalled these programs but no luck. I also checked for corupted or modified system files using System Information but no luck there either. I saw others have had the same trouble but no solution as of yet. Anyone have any idea what files may be involved (.dll, .vxd, etc.) when a new folder is created? I

Try right clicking on yur desktop and new folder. Does it work that way? If so, you can then drag the folder wherever yu want it to go. Maybe this will work for yu until yu can find the soloution to the main problem.

anil: Thanks but it didn't petain to my problem.

yyy: No. That's when I noticed the problem first. As soon as I move my mouse pointer over the word NEW in the popup menu the error appears. The only work around I've found is to add a folder via MS Word 2000's OPEN dialog. I probably could do it via other programs too.

I want to fix Explorer though. I'm sure some .dll or .ocx was overwritten or corupted I just don't know what files Explorer uses. I guess I can always format and start over as I've done in the past when I've loaded one too many programs. This kind of thing always happens at some point or another with the Windows operating system.
