fastpara.vxd error message on boot up

Unstalled some software that came with a scanner. Now coming up with fastpara.vxd missing file error on bootup. Anyone come across this problem before or know anything about it.

reinstall the software..or..
REGEDIT and search for the file thats missing then delete the reference
or SYSEDIT and do the same in sytem.ini
