I'm just wondering if anyone knows why my fan on my laptop will only run at startup??

At startup is only runs for a few seconds and then never turns on again. It gets pretty warm sometimes so i shut down to cool off and then restart, i don't want to take a chance. It is only 6mths old, and it has done this from the beginning.

Is there somewhere in the BIOS this can be changed to run more often?? Is there somewhere else this can be changed??

Thanks

Travis

Hello T-boy:

You pose an interesting question that not a soul can answer, as you have not provided enough information.

Forgive me if I seem to be cheeky, but let's consider the following hypothetical situation:

I go to the emergency room at a local hospital and tell the doctor:

Me: "I'm in pain"

ER doc: "Where?"

Me: "In my body"

ER doc: "Any specific place in your body?"

Me: "It's in my body"

ER doc: "Can you be more specific?"

Me: "Sure, I feel hot in the morning when I first get out of bed but then feel warm and OK"

ER Doc: "Where do you feel hot?"

Me: "I dunno, somewhere."

See where I am going here? If you would be kind enough to repost with the make and model of laptop as well as CPU I am sure someone here could help you.

If you are not able to do so, I'd suggest you call the manufacturer.

The only reason I replied it that I thought you might have a SONY lappie and I know how difficult they are to deal with.

Should you repost with needed information, I will be happy to respond.

Good Luck

Thanks Dr.Oneill for the sarcastic, worthless, little piece of information you so willingly provided.
A lesson to all who think they are all knowing.....i wonder why forums have such a bad rep???
