Fan Rpm

CPU/Ram: 64mb ram

I installed a new computer cooling fan. It has a three lead connector. Two are for the electricity to go through, but there is another one. This is what it says on the box
Connectors:3 lead TX with Rpm sensor.
Does this mean it can tell me how fast the fan is going?
If so how can I access this feature on my computer?
If it isn't for telling me how fast the fan goes than what is it for?

It depends on your MOBO. You may also need a MOBO monitoring program like:

motherboard monitor
