Hello, again and Happy Hoildays to all. I have a Seagate, External hard drive.that dosen't show up when i turn it on. i look in Windows Explorer where you find most all files but it is not there. i have used it on 98se before no problem.i downloaded segate drivers, installed them it finds them. and then says it is installed. I check in device manager and it shows up there.i thought it was the drive but, on my multi boot machine it shows up in XP only and not in Win Me can't figure it out..would appreciate your help. I have a problem with my external USB drive when using Win98se too. If you have the drive turned on before booting it will show but your drive letters may be changed, depending on the number of drives & partitions in the system. My solution is to unplug and replug the USB cable after the system is fully booted and the USB drive has been turned on for a bit. At that time Win98se WILL see the drive and the eject icon will appear in the tray.

Are you sure you have it formatted using FAT32?

If you can only see it on XP, it may be formatted NTFS and then you won't see it with 98 or ME.

The poster stated they had used this drive previously on Win98. I assumed that meant in the present state.
