external orb drive + canon 255SP printer

external orb drive connected to parallel port works O.K. but when printer is connected to back of orb drive, system hangs and i cannot access printer or orb. i believe i have all updated drivers etc. also have tried powering on orb after puter. has anyone else had this problem,and found a solution. thanks, regards geoff
Howdy, Well this problem used to happen with scanners alot, sometimes you had to power on the scanner before the system and sometimes vise versa. You have checked out the web site for the drive our the printer? Have you tried a different printer to see if you get the same results? Anymore info you can give will help us, help you.
