Hi all, when ever I right click on the recycle bin or My computer or drive icons etc Explorer crashes with a message "Explorer caused an invalid page fault in Shell32.dll at 023f:7fcfc68f"
Any idea on a fix for this? I am running Win98 and IE5.0. Will a new SHell fix all?

I had a lot of page faults a while ago
it was not a software problam it was that the dimms were two different speeds 70ns and 100ns. The shop had put the wrong upgrades in for the motherboard could only run 100ns correctly
I dont know if this will help your problam as it might be something else but it might be something worth rembering

Shell32.dll appeared to be corrupt one way or another when I used WordPerfect 7.0. Maybe this could be the consequence of using Fixxit 99. This software tends to help you with registerproblems etc. using WinXX. With Win95 Fixxit is a small disaster; but the problem seems to be solved after upgrading it. With Win98 & an update of Fixxit I thought I wouldn't have any problems at all........
Wrong! WP doesn't work anymore.....lucky me...

I'm getting the error for "shell32.dll @ 016F:7fcb1946, invalid page fault module when I attempt to open Wordperfect 7. I have the entire suite, but this only happens when opening WP7. Interestingly enough, it will run if I move the error message out of the way, however, if I close the error message, the program will close as well. Help would be very appreciated

Found the answer to the shell.dll invalid page fault error fo extensions 016F:7FCB1946, 015F:FCE3FB4, and a few others. Apparently, this is unique to running Corel's earliest version of WP7 with Win98 (7.0.0.2327 & 7.0.1.9) Corel doesn't know exactly how it happens, but they gave me the following work-around that stopped the error message for me: Change the default document folder in WP7 to "my documents". As strange as it may seem - it worked. The other solution intales adding the /x startup option to the short cut. Finally - they suggest upgrading to the newest version of WP7. However, the earliest versions have to be completely reinstalled by obtaining a CD from Corel for a modest sum of $10. This wouldn't help much if you're running a bootleg.

For more details on the quick-fixes, visit Corel's support page and look for document #18157. This was a big help to me!

I'm having errors when I first start up and try to get into my profile. Right from the very start it says that I have a corrupt shell32.dll file. I went into safe mode to see if i can recopy but when I look, there are two "shell32.dll" files. Is that supposed to be or not? I also often get page fault errors.

I use Fixit99 often to defrag & for Registry maintenance. I started getting the error message 'shell32.dll file is linked to missing export shlwapi.dll:shreggetusvaluea' error condition every time I tried to open PaperPort Deluxe 5.1 . I finally solved the problem by downloading the latest update of IE5.5 . Hope this helps

Hey, I'm getting a similar problem with
shell32.dll at 0177:7fce23b3...however, I
don't have Word Perfect and the errors
started after I uninstalled IE5 and
returned to IE4. Additionally, I had been
having trouble ever since I removed
NeoPlanet from my computer (which is
why I tried reinstalling IE in the first place).
Any ideas anyone?
