I've had that happen several times. Don't know why it happens. Next time, try maximizing it and then hold down the ctrl key and exit IE, That will `sometimes' fix it.

Hi Ken, papa2, hi everyone,
Maybe a popup that was closed as the last IE window! I don't know about Ctrl key at exit but Windows is able to record the size of the last window so don't maximize but resize the window then close IE and relog! IE should open with the size of the last window you used.

I use the IE icon in the Quicklaunch bar to open IE but I do not know if the following is true for the "E" icon on the desktop that IE places there as I don't have it like many folks do. (I don't believe that "E" icon is a shortcut (could be wrong))
Right click on the IE shortcut and select Properties. There you can use the drop down menu to select to have the window open "Maximized". Click Apply and OK.
