i have just upgraded to Internet explorer 6 & now persistently receive the following error before explorer closes:
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module MSVCRT.DLL at 0167:78015ca2.

re-installing my O/S as i have never tried this before and am worried i will not get back on the net at all! My pc is 5 years old & i am running win 98 se & have 320 ram.
Any advice appreciated.

The article specifies 'third party software' versus IE or Explorer. It does specify AOL as one of those 3rd party softwares. So if you are using AOL in conjunction with IE then it certainly applies. Otherwise I see no specific references to IE or Explorer and MSVCRT.DLL on a subsequent search.

Maybe an IE repair : Start Run msinfo32 Tools.
Or OE can be uninstalled with add/remove Windows Setup. Then reinstall. This last may mess up your email ... i don't know.Best

thanks, ive run the IE repair in msinfo32 and it is unable to repair IE6 and suggests a re-install. Im not sure if this will work as i have installed twice already. I will try for a third time.

There were different releases/versions of that dll. It`s possible that a program you have installed replaced it. You might try sfc and restoring the original version
