I am continually getting the following sort of messages. What do I do to prevent the problem, what is the problem, and what does this mean?
Thanks for your help,

I get this exact error alot. Happens ramdomly but it was so bad last night it happened every 10 minutes or so. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Can a virus cause this? I need help.

I found a solution to this exact problem at this website and address:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q193/5/76.ASP
If the page gets moved, you can always go to http://support.microsoft.com, then click on the search button, then copy the text, "EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL" and paste that text into the search field and search by "exact phrase". The first match should point to the information I found at the site above.

Well, I'm eating crow. And not because I've grown tired of other fowl. I tried the solution I found at the site listed above, and it didn't work. Not only were many of the files which Microsoft asked me to delete not on my computer anywhere, but after I deleted the files which were there and followed all other instructions, the problem still exists. Good luck to all with this problem. I just saw a post on another website from a person who has been having this problem since 1996. Whew. I'm giving up and planning to a clean install after I figure out where to backup all my stuff..

Come on! Doesn't anybody have any advice for this problem. I get it nearly everytime I start my computer. It's absolutely annoying! Please, one sensible answer...I beg you!

I'm finding that kernel32.dll errors...a lot of them are caused by new programs in the start menu..
goto run, then type in msconfig. go to startup tab then scroll down the list and take off the extra programs...you might find things run a little smoother as well...

Most like the one soltuionis to do a clean install. The more programs you load the more likely you will start getting these types of errors. It's just the nature of the beast. However one thing to check, if you have had more memory put in check that the metal tabs on the memory and on the memory slots are the same colour ie only put silver tabs in silver slots. You can get some corrsion using differnet metal types. Which can quite often cause thes typoe of problems. Another thing to try is reseating the memory and other cards you may have added sometimes they become loose or lose contact. Anyway apart from this its a reload.

I have had this problem forever. Was told that it is a bug in the Win 95 program. I even went so far as to have a re-programming job done and the problem still existed. I, for one, have given up on it and just put up with the torment. My next computer will be a Mac!!!

I got this problem after a CD that promised it wouldn't tried to load IE4 over IE5. At first Internet Explorer would crash so I uninstalled anything looking remotely like it might belong to IE5 and then reinstalled the program. Now I get the above message regularly, but particularly every time my screen saver starts.

these errors suck.
I used to get them a lot, invalid page faults, general projection faults. In my case making the room in which i had my computer colder, and adding a few beefy fans to my case and voodoo graphics seemed to stop some of the errors.. I found other errors were resolved by getting the very latest graphics drivers on my graphix card.
I have heard that if you still get these errors after cooling and updating drivers it may be faulty ram.

I get these errors when I log-off the internet. Sometimes it's so bad that I can't shut down the pc without hitting the power on the surge protector! My service provider says it's explorer & explorer doesn't have an answer!

explorer cause a stack fault in module Kernel32.dll at 0177:bff74293. What i can do to fixes this

If you are using IE Explorer 5.0, disable the active desktop feature and taskbar autohide. It worked for me.

No, I'm not really Bill, but I'm sure he's to blame! I CONSTANTLY get this message. After repeated attempts to resolve the problem, I've given up. Anymore, I just MOVE the error box to the bottom of the screen and continue on. Eventually the system seems to tye itself up in knots, but until then I simply carry on. It is truly sad that NO ONE seems to have an answer for this widespread and annoying problem!

Can anyone help me here this error comes up everytime i load up internet explorer to go on the internet if you no what/how to fix the problem or have any good web pages to help me please email me thanks! Bye

I have W95 on my PC. I was on my way to configure free internet service from Bluelight (often found at K.Mart). It wanted me to install IE 5 accompanied in the CD. After installing, I restarted the machine and BANG!! As soon as the windows blank screen comes while startup, the page fault comes and I cannot proceed. Windows just doesn't startup. Is there any way besides a re-install. Would reverting to IE 4 solve the problem?
Thanks.

im hopeless i cant acess my yahoo messenger it keeps tell me that its perfom illegal funtion and shuts off i tryed to go to run and then put indrive:/setup and it says no file for it when i reboot it says that my hp ntework isnt found so is this the problem

i nstalled windows 3 and now iget kernel32.dll same numbers as everyone else. any tips on windows 3 to get rid of this?

To solve this kind of problem you shold reinsatll kernel32.dll go to this web site http://solo.abac.com/dllarchive/M.html
I've done it and it fixes the propblem. Any time you get an error message like the ones described above, click the "details" tab and which ever file is listed, in this case Kernel32.dll, is the file that's causing the problem. It's simply a corrupted file. Try and find the file or an update to it by searching the web and replace it. Or try uninstalling the program that preceded the error messages and reinstalling it again.

Sorry about that, the previous link takes you to the list of files that start with "M". The link below will take you directly to the files that begin with "K" (if you haven't already figured out to go to the bottom of the page of the first link to the alphabet choice and click "K".)
http://solo.abac.com/dllarchive/K.html
Read the instructions in the "read me" file and follow them precisely. I did notice there is an error in the instructions when they tell you to go to MS-DOS mode to copy the file. I had to change this to get it to copy on my computer, anyway.
At the C:\WINDOWS> prompt in DOS It will direct you to type
copy c:\kernel32\kernel32.dll c:\windows\system\I kept getting "Invalid Directory" until I left out the last "\" following the word system. In other words, type this in instead...
copy c:\kernel32\kernel32.dll c:windows\system
