Comment:

you would think microsoft would attempt to help people. but what do they care, they already made the $ right?

anyway; i get Exception OE errors ONLY when i play Baldur's Gate, or other "big" games.
The most common are a) in VXD VMM(01) *from* VXD VFAT(01), and b) VXD DSOUND (01) from VXD DSOUND(03).

i know my soundcard is one of the factory, welded crap ones, but i just cant afford one right now. would that even fix it?
anyone with any advise here? it's so frustrating.

thanx

Run dxdiag - and check device manager for conflicts. Hate to say this, but Microsoft helps those who help themselves. What is a "welded" sound card? Do you maybe mean an onboard (integral to the mobo) card?
