I have an issue where I open up excel 2000 on my PC and it comes up with the error "Excel caused a General Protection Fault in module USER.exe at 000b:00000108.
I have tried replacing memory, replacing user.exe file, updating video drivers, replacing fonts, and removing and reloading Office 2K again. I have even updated my printer drivers and still no go!! Can anybody shed any light on this?

See if this works:

goto
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\Excel.xlb

and rename the file to excel.old

Applications do get corrupted. Sometimes best way is to use "Add/Remove Programs" to remove the application and then re-install it. A pain in the Ash but that's Microsoft.
Never just delete program files. Use "Add/Remove" as the application should have an "Uninstall" program to get rid of the junk that is spread all over the place, registry and shared files, etc.

this happened to me before...do a search on your computer, re-name the file "excel.xlb" to something like "excel1.xlb" and it will be fixed!
