Excel 2000 help!!

A user is having a problem in excel 2000. SHe is not able to open 2 excel documents. Everyone else on the network can open them fine. When she opens them she just gets a grey screen and it says ready. Its not frozen she is still able to close it normally. Anyone ever experience this or know how to fix it? This user always had office problems. Ended up reformatting and starting from scratch about a month ago and everything has been fine since. any ideas? please help!

Just a quick follow up, it seems that it just opened up excel with nothing open thats what the grey screen is, and on the bottom it says ready. but why would she get this if she is opening an excel file? and it only does it with 2 documents?
Go to File, Open and browse to the file and open it from there.
