Can anyone advise how to overcome incompatability between ess gameport and microsoft sidewinder gamepad, it simply doesn`t recognise it as being connected

wassup Mark try changing the I/O OR IRQ settings from the device's properties from the device manager. that should do it.

I have an AMD ATHLON SYSTEM, and ESS Solo-1, multimedia sound card and also the sound card number is ESS Solo-1 1938.
Dear Sir, I have a big problem with my sound card. It has not support with windows 98 because i dont have the driver of multimedia sound card. after that i installed the WINDOWS ME and then sound card is running properly. so I checked the problem which occurs in the windows 98 is gameport. It is not support in the windows 98.
So i want to ask about that is your Ess gameport will support to my system on the windows 98.
And also that i want to install the windows 98.
