ess 1869 sound card. HELP!

Sometimes my computer wont detect the sound card so what i have to do is restart couple times or sometimes even more >=(. This is very annoying. So can anyone help me out¿ Thanks

go to the ess home page and download their drivers. make sure you match the version to you model. ess can be found easily by doing a search on yahoo for "ESS"

Dbg is right. Check out Device Manager and see if your current soundcard listing has a WDM at the end of it. The ESS1869 WDM drivers for Win98 don't work very well. The ESS1869 Win95 drivers from their website work fine in Win98 (that is, if you're running Win98).

Where can I find the WindowsNT compatible driver for soundcard ESS 1869
My card works great for games and other programs but when i try to use any of the system sounds it messes up and skips, keeps repeating a beeping type sound. Can any one help. I tried the drivers from the ESS website and made sure they were the corect ones but that didnt seem to help any.

I have an ESS 1869 and it use to be able to play multiple souds @ once ie winamp mp3z and aim sounds @ the same time...I upgraded to win98 and got the new drivers and it no longer does this...any suggestions?
