Installed the card, thought I have all
drivers installed but when I try
to use the audio rack I get "no mixer found"
and when I try to record, I get "no driver
loaded."
How can I tell if this card is defective?

Thanks for your time...

Steven,

You might want to go up to

http://www.dr-tech

to look for new drivers to the card to start with.

You should uninstall the software for your card;

Go to START->CONTROL PANEL->SYSTEM->DEVICE MANAGER, Double click on Sound Video and Game Controllers.

You might see all the drivers listed there that pertain to your soundcard with yellow excaimation marks.

Click each of those drivers and push the remove button.

When you are done, reboot.

You may just want to move your soundcard to a different slot. I don't know why, sometimes I have to do that to get Win 95 to recognize that I have a new device.

Windows may or may not detect a new device when it comes back up.

If it doesn't, click ADD NEW HARDWARE in the CONTROL PANEL.

You will get a few windows that come up depending on whether you use Win 95 or Win 98.

Keep clicking NEXT until you get to a popup,(maybe this one is only in Win 98), that shows you a list, Click on "No the device isn't in the list".

Hit NEXT until you get to the popup where you can say NO, I WANT TO SELECT HARDWARE FROM A LIST.

Hit NEXT
Double click; Sound, Video and game controllers

Click HAVE DISK->BROWSE, then send it to your floppy or CD-ROM, Wherever your drivers are.

From there you should be lead through by the software.

Good Luck,

Doug
