Im setting up a third computer on my win98 peer - peer lan.

I reinstall win98 and all went well. There are no hardware conflicts or device drivers missing.

But i cant get the dhcp to work.

when i goto winipcfg the ip address is 0.0.0.0 and when i clik renew i get the error "Error renewing adaptor ''"
whats going on?

Make sure your lan card is well installed
or reinstall it !
also verify your protocols (TCP/IP):allow a static IP adress and ping it !
