All my searches on this Outlook Express error message lead me here. However, after reviewing an implementing all of the fixes listed I still have the same problem.
Every time I try to send a message from within OE I get this:

The server does not support the required HTTP methods. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Method Not Allowed', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC35

All prior posts have referred this as being a problem only in OE version 5.o but I am using the latest version of 6.0 along with Win 98 SE. This problem happened out of the blue several days ago and I have tried every fix I can find so far thus I am asking this, does anybody have any new information I can use? If so, I will be very grateful.

Hello,
error occured seems to be some files or drivers from Internet Explorer corrupted or damaged after some modifications made on your system.
Did you try the "repair" function of your IE, included in the soft ?
To get it, go to the "pannel control" on your desktop, open it, click on "add & remove programs" icon, you will see a list of components actives on your computer, find "Internet Explorer and his tools", click on it, you have a new window with 3 options, one of them is "Repair", click on it, your IE will scan all the program to look for damaged or corrupted files, you will be asked to reboot your computer after this procedure..... that should help...

Tried that but still have the problem. I have even reloaded Outlook Express with the same problem still showing up. Thanks for your suggestion though as I learned about the repair option that I was unaware of.

Rick, I've been getting the same error message for the last 2 weeks. What seemed to work for me (for how long I don't know) was to run the IE repair feature twice. Also, Zonealarm can be a problem if set to the high security setting. I had to put it on medium.

Thanks Lyradd for the time taken, but before I had read your message I had already uninstalled IE 6.0 and all components and fallen back to IE 5.0. I then checked out the send function and found no problems so then I reinstalled IE 6.0 and everything works just fine now. I did take the time to install a backup program called "e-Backup" that allows for a full restore of all settings and information and it worked great.

As I see it, the only thing I didn't try was your suggestion which I will remember to try if this happens again.... CASE CLOSED.

Rick

This problem appeared suddenly for me after I changed my privacy setting slider from 60% to 80%. Setting it back again proved to be the fix.
Reading these messages reminded me that I had changed the setting in the first place, so in gratitude I’m posting my fix too. Hope it helps.

Kelly is right. Before you do anything else, make sure your "Privacy" setting in Internet Explorer Tools is on low.
Thanks
