I posted the following message earlier and the problem is still not resolved:
I just completed an upgrade from Windows 95 to Windows 98 SE. Prior to the upgrade, I had a functioning peer-to-peer network between 2 Windows 95 based computers. In the upgraded computer (the one now running Windows 98), I now get the error message "mprexe caused an invalid page fault in msnp32.dll" when I try to view the contents of HDs of either networked computer (this error occurs whether I use the Windows Explorer or Network Neighborhood to attempt to view the networked comuters contents). I have reinstalled mprexe from my Windows 98 SE CD-ROM, but this has not solved the error.
Two suggestions at fixes were offered (thank you Alan Jochem!)
Number 1
"Have you looked at your device manager and made sure there was no conflicts especially with the network card. Is it a legacy network card or is it a plug and play. You may want to remove the network card (physically), remove it from the device manager. Boot up and clean up the device manager, shut down, replace the network card and see what happens."
I did this, there are no conflicts in the device manager, and I still got the same error message. I even purchased a new network card, removed the old one from the device manager and physically from the computer, rebooted, shut down, installed the new network card - and I still get the same error message.
Number 2
"It could also be as simple as Deleting the .pwl file in your c:\windows directory and reboot. Don't enter a WIN95 logon password."
I did this as well - deleted all .pwl files from from HD and did not enter a logon password for the network. Again it did not work.
Any suggestions - this makes no sense and I am stuck.
Thanks again.
Michael

I have just set up a new small network w/ two new machines that I built. I am getting the same message.
Did you ever get the problem resolved?
Thanks,
RR
