error messages freezing computer

Please help! This is the first time I've discovered this site and don't know exactly how to post my question. I keep receiving "valid page fault" and "Microsoft Internet Explorer encountered a problem". HELP!!!! Thanks!

I have Windows 98 and keep getting these messages when I am in Outlook Express and Internet Explorer. "Msimn caused an invalid page fault in module GDI.exe at 0001.0000a2bl" and "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience". It usually shuts my computer down immediately and everything freezes up. The only way to close it down is to turn off my modem. It usually happens after I've been on the computer for 30 - 60 minutes. I used to see that when a memory stick has gone bad. You might try pulling out the memory sticks one at a time and running the computer. If it crashes with one in and not the other bingo. They go bad after awhile sometimes.
