My wife has Windows 98 on her PC and whenever she SHUTS DOWN and error message on a BLUE screen appears: "A Fatal Exception OE Has Occured At 0028: C02A27A8 In VXD VWIN32(05) + 00001200. The Current Application Will Be Terminated". You can hit any key to continue but then the desktop comes back up and when the Windows Shutting Down screen comes up the computer freezes and has to be shut off manually, thus having to go through all of the Scandisk crap when you re-start. I have been all through the error messages on Microsoft's site and can't find this one. Can someone help? Also, whenever she starts up, whether she tries to go on line or not, a window appears saying no internet connection is available and gives you the option of pushing one of two buttons, either connect to the internet or work offline. I don't know if the two things are related or not. Thanx. Wayne

Try booting into DOS and type SCANREG/FIX. Run it and see what happens. When all is said and done More is said than done..
