When shutting down computer, message "It Is Now Safe To Turn Off Your Computer" has gone message now state "Windows Is Shutting Down", and it does quite abruptly, is there a fix for this problem?

Recycle bin problem:
Boot to dos standalone and type
Deltree c:\recycled
When it asks to confirm, enter Y

Windows will rebuild the bin on restart

How Windows shuts down depends on whether you have an AT or ATX power supply. Have you recently upgraded your motherboard and power supply?

Yes, deltree the recycle bin from dos. Windows will recreate it clean at restart.

That's not a problem so don't worry about it. Mine shuts down the same way and always has.

Mine does the same thing, sometimes i dont even get to see it is now safe to shut your computer off b4 it flashes it self out it happens so fast, but thats a good thing thinking in a physics sense, theres not alot of resisting going on between the time the command is given and the power is out :]
