Same problem as above, specifically with HPFWIN16.DLL. This file is installed as part of the HP DeskJet 697C printer driver. Remove the printer and the error goes away. HP has no updated driver (ver 11.0 is the one I have). Maximizer is one program that crashes - they admit to having problems with many HP Deskjet drivers and suggest using the generic "HP Deskjet" driver or upgrading to the latest version of Maximizer (big surprise!)

SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had this problem myself and I was able to fix the problem. I understand how annoying it is to not be able to print or even pull up a word file(Microsoft Word, Lotus Word Pro) at all. First of all, to clear the misconception up, this is a printer error in a Hewlett Packard (HP) printer. That is what the HP in "HPFWIN16.DLL" stands for. So now you ask, how do you fix the problem? Click start, click settings, click printers. Right-click and delete the printer that is the default, as well as any other printers that may be in that area. Next, you will need to re-add the printer so that you will be able to print again. This should fix the error signal. Then, run your printer through a "print check" and everything should be fixed. If you still have problems, email me and I can run you through the process. I just fixed mine, so I am extending the splendor. Guess what? You are done. Hope this helped you!
