I get this error message on Outlook express 6. I cant send or recieve messages cause this error message shows up. Please help!!The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'mom951@sbcglobal.net'. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 authentication required - for help go to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/sbc/dsl/mail/pop/pop-11.html', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Could be just the server playing up, so try again in a few hours. Otherwise it might be worth ringing their help line on this one (it's something they are usually good at).

Please note that if you put an email in text on a website (as you did above) then the spammers engines will pick up the "at" sign and spam the email address like mad.

If it is really necessary then disguise it, like this:

george
dot
bush
"at sign"
whitehouse
dot
com

Not easy from afar without continuous two way conversation (which is why I suggested you contact server). Did you go to the address given in the error message?

In OE go to Tools/Accounts and check all settings. Usually your IE homepage has a help section which will tell you what all your settings should be.

Sounds like your email address and password are not matching, or your pop/smtp settings are not what the server is expecting.

Pop is for incoming email, smtp is for incoming email.
