my pc keeps hanging ang it seems as though explorer is not responding as it should
i got this message and wonder if anyone can shed some light on it:-
an exception has occured at 0028:c1825e94 in vxd cdfs(03) + 00008604. this was called from 0028: c1830bb8 in vxd voltrack (04) + 00000a18.

Well CDFS is the Compact Disk File System. Do you have a CD in the CDROM Drive? The VXD generally deals with a virtual device driver. Possibly a memory problem. Try increasing your paging file and remove any CD's that you may have in the computer. Hope this helps.

As Floyd said, CDFS is the Windows Compact Disk File System. CDFS.vxd is the CD driver Used in Win95 and up. It replaced the old MSCDEX file. If you do a search on Yahoo or Google, you can find many 3rd party replacements for this file. You might try installing a new version and see if that fixes the problem.
Summary: when I boot up, It look fine for me, but at the Login screen, I click Ok. then It come out the Explorer massage like: Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Explorer.exe at 015f:0040l3fl. ......
Summary: Well, I followed your directions and it didn't fix the problem. It said that it successfully restored the registry but when I restarted I got the same blue screen error message. Any other ideas? ...
