I get this error after i loaded some scanner software. when i select 1. Normal I get the WIN98 screen then this error comes on, Error loading user.exe , reload windows. How can i clear this without reloading windows. i can go to safe mode. It did change my settings in my BIOS in the power management to sleep mode 30 seconds of being idle. i changed it to 30 minutes and that part is ok. i tried creating a new user in safe mode but that did not help. i think i may be on the wrong track with that. ken

I have seen this error before. In a PC which has been working prior to the error, you can recover by using the built-in registry restore utility. See the full article at the Dell Knowledge Base site. Search for 1011154.
