All of a sudden when I switch on I get the ff message: ERROR! Error when unpacking, code 4. Please contact the author. I have no idea which program it refers to. I have uninstalled system Mechanic 6 as I thought that was the culprit but it didn,t work. Help please.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

As this happened suddenly it would be worth trying a registry restore. Shut down and restart in MS-DOS and when it has finished type scanreg /restore and hit Return key.

Choose a registry dated just before the problem came along. This will only help if it happens to be a registry problem but the link above implies that this is a possibility.
