I am having a problem my computer is reporting Two PCI.VXD Bus types with the code 2 error. And it tells me to update my bios. Here is what I did that has led up to this problem: I just upgraded to a 40gb hard drive and I did a full copy of the original hard drive, I then removed the old hard drive. After every thing checked out in the system I then installed windows me over the original OS win98se. Could there be a file from the original os causing the problem? The computer seems to be running great, should I just ignore this error? Or should I try and update my bios?

Try removing the IDE controller in Control Panel>System, and searching for the information files that windows uses for IDE devices, drvidx.bin and drvdata.bin, found in c:\windows\inf (hidden).

This should get windows to look at and redetect its hardware upon rebooting. Also, delete the .bin files before rebooting, they are re-built by windows.
