When trying to uninstall Netscape Communicator 4.61 (and several other programs in the past) I get the message "Error 103 Setup is unable to find _SETUP.DLL, which is needed to complete the installation". Any ideas? I'm trying to UNinstall, not install. I have removed the contents of c:\windows\temp, but that doesn't help. Thanks for any help!

Hello, 1. Check to make sure that _SETUP.DLL is located with the Setup program. 2. Locate the setup program. This generally is in the Windows\Temp directory in a sub directory labeled with the program name. 3. Copy the _SETUP.DLL to this directory. Run setup again. If the _SETUP.DLL file cannot be located and/or is missing, download the err103.zip file and copy the _SETUP.DLL file from the zip file to your setup directory. Run setup again. Hope this helps you. I have been trying to install Kodak CD. & i keep getting can't find SETUP.DlL Error103 & then Error429 & a little later Error 481 i'm new Please Help

for the error "unable to find _setup.dll" Error 103 (Setup Initialization Error) at least in WinME when installing an application when typing setup.exe either at run or dos window - the only workaround i was able to diagnose was: i decided to use ZipMagic2000 - i'm sure other similar applications would work, open files (which locates in folders actually) and the used EZ Setup button and everything installed fine . . . very difficult error to solve though Good Luck - ZipMagic2000 does work
