I have win 98. I moved some files to be deleted into recycle bin. I now have 28 folders in there. I cannot delete them, undo them, rename them i just keep getting file system error 1026. How can I empty the bin. Can I erase the bin and reload it ????

Thanks

Thanks for the sites guys, but didn't work. I have 7 gig free on my hard drive. I tried disk clean up which show 0.0 MB in my recycle bin, I then clicked back on the bin and there are the 28 folders still. Tried to delete again and there is the 1026 error message again.

Thanks again

Error 1026 can also occurs while running BootDisk Builder, which is included with Drive Image 3.0. It will be reported after choosing the "Create Network Client Diskettes" option, and then selecting "Microsoft TCP/IP" for the operating system to be used.
This is caused by downloading the DSK3-1.exe and DSK3-2.exe files from Microsoft's FTP site, rather than running the "getmslan" batch file from the PQBDB Directory. To correct this, clear out the MS subdirectory in the PQBDB directory, and then run "getmslan.bat" from the PQBDB Directory. The Boot Disk Builder will work properly when using getmslan.bat.

Try this

step 1. Boot to Dos or Restart the computer in MS-Dos mode.
step 2. type "attrib c:\recyled -h -s -r" and press enter
step 3. type "cd recycled" and press enter

step 4. type "deltree *.*" and press enter (make sure you are in the c:\recylced directory before you press enter.)
step 5. press "Y" for each directory you are prompted for.
step 6. reboot the unit to Windows and the recycled bin should be empty.

Here's what I did.
1) moved the files to the trash
2) right click on trash to access the properties.
3) check the option that says 'Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted.'
4) reboot

This worked for me. Please feedback on your results.
Thanks.
