Hi
I have had this problem for quite a while, but usually corrected itself by shutting down, or not using it until the next day, but now it will not print.
I ask it to print and only the spool manager shows up in the tray instead of the print notification as well. I click on this and get the spool manager dialog box. I see the file that I am trying to print which I usually delete it before doing other things. I se the printer I am using and the port. I click on queue and note that nothing is on hold.
I have no idea what to do now. I uninstalled and reinstalled all to no avail.

Been griping over the same thing. The Epson Stylus drivers work fine over XP, but with Win9x they constantly freeze. Will freeze much less often if you change the LPT port to standard mode. Go into your BIOS setup and change EPP to standard.

Must be an Epson thing. We have an EPSON Stylus Color 1500 or 1520 or something for printing 17 x 22 drawings. I almost shot the son of a dog today. It jams every other time and the printer head utility has to be run on a regular basis.

I can not get to the BIOS setup, at least I can find no way to get there.
As far as I can tell from the device mgr dialog box/LTP1/ECP port I have the standard
printer port type.I know that info is getting to the printer OK because I can print on my black/white
HP laser printerThanks for the info - at least I am not alone. I guess the I will be without a color printer for awhile.

I dunno. My Epson 640 works like a charm on an ECP port. Worked OK with EPP and SPP as well. (P233MMX, Win95a, 64Mb). Do you have a scanner as well? If so, put it on a separate parallel port as Epson printers are a bit funny when plugged into scanner passthru ports.
