I'm not sure this is the right forum but I'll try. I have an Epson Stylus 760 Inkjet printer. Everytime you switch it on it cleans the heads thereby using ink. It happens that your cartridges can become empty without you typing a single letter!
To prevent that would you say its advisable to leave the printer on permanently? What could the possible disadvantages be, if any(apart from its drain of my pocket in terms of electricity consumption).I can't think of any other way to save ink.

Advice would be highly appreciated.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

I have an older Epson printer that came with a utility that includes a tool for cleaning the heads.

Can you not set it so it doesn't clean the heads everytime?
