Hi,
Whenever I use ctrl/alt/del to end a program, I always have to do it 3 times before I get the end program window. Is there a fix that will allow me to get the end program confirmation window on the first try?
Thanks,
John

How long are you waiting after Ctrl-Alt-Del before doing it the second and third times?
Soylent Green is PEOPLE!!!

Hi,
Please cancel this request. I found the problem. I was being too impatient and not waiting long enough for the window to pop up.
John

The time to wait can be modified. Look at this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
The two string values of interest are:
HungAppTimeout
WaitToKillAppTimeout
These have a default of 10000 or something. The value is string in 1/1000 seconds. Set the value to string 1000 for one second.
If an item are not in the list, create it as new string value:
Highlight \Desktop then Edit .. New .. String Value
key in the name (as above) for the item, click elsewhere
after the item is created right click it ... Modify
and key in 1000Best
