Is there anyway I can get phone calls to ring through while I'm connected to a dial-up ISP. I have call waiting and I don't disable it when I connect. I think at one time, if someone phoned, it disconnected the modem and the phone would ring unless call waiting was disabled. Anyone's help would be appreciated.

when the call waiting beep goes through and it times out a counter for how long the modem will stay connected befor droping the connection, you need it to be shorter then the legnth of a call waiting beep. To change this right click my computer and goto properties->device manager->modem-> name of your modem->properties->connection->advanced in the "extra settings" box put in: S10=3 hit OK until all the windows dissapear. Try connecting to your ISP and get a friend to call you . Your modem should disconnect on the beep and your phone will ring. You may want to experiment with the number after the =. it is a value in tenths of a second. You modem will be more vunrable to disturbance on the line. Also make sure that call waiting isn't disabled in any settings.

Thanks for the response. I tried adding that line and it didn't seem to work. I've changed it to no effect. Could I get some clarification on how it works should I be increasing or decreasing the value.
