I continually get the EMM386 not installed message, though the only thing I've changed on my computer has been an upgraded video card. I went from a GeForce2 to a GeForce4. I collect DOS games, and prefer to not have to play them in DOS mode, which I am currently having to do for some.
The problem is occuring mostly with Kyrandia I, and Might and Magic V: Darkside of XEEN.
Config.sys is fine, and I've tried several variations, specifying ranges, ranges not to check, RAM, and any others I could find online. I cannot use NOEMS with these games. Any ideas? Thanks.

O.K. I think EMM386 is an expanded memory manager. Are you trying to run DOS games under Windows? If you are, you can give this a try. Find the executable file that runs the game (the program's icon) .Right Click. Click Properties. Click the Memory Tab, and then go down to the Expanded (EMS) Memory text box and change the default setting from "Auto" to something a bit higher. It might work. However, some DOS games just don't run well under Windows. When I play Old DOS games like Doom or Quake, I usually go into MS-DOS mode. Good Luck.

Yes, emm386.exe is The XMS/EMS memory manager for DOS.
Is emm386 even loading? You can check using
mem/c/p
Seems to be an incompatibility with GeForce4 and emm386.exe if you're using a secondary PCI video card - don't know if that's applicable here. Possibly the card is using memory addresses also sought by emm386?
When EMS is emulated, 64K is set as a page frame - maybe you need to experiment with the FRAME parameter

It may help to run memmaker to configure config.sys and autoexec.bat. You can specify EMS memory with it also.
Memmaker is an old dos program and also came with 95 on a supplemental disk. I can send the necessary files if you want to try it.
