I'm having a very weird problem with my Win98 SE system. Whenever I try to send an email, the message goes to the outbox and stays there! It won't send even when I go into the outbox and highlight the message and press send. I'm running OE 5 and all the information (servers, account info) is correct. Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem?

My friend had a similar problem before, where the email would sit in the outbox but not send.

Find the settings that specify when to send your mail.. you want to set it so that it sends immediately.

sorry i forgot the specific menus but bascially after you do this it shouldn't hold the mail anymore and should ship it straight out.

provided of course your email is set up properly and was working before.

Could be that the provider or a line is down between your system and the email server.

Yep, I'll bet it's your provider. I know that if you use Netzero's email, then you can only send email through their internet service. It gets pretty annoying.

Hi. I had a similar problem, try making sure you are actually online, then open your Outlook or email software, click on send/recieve, this will make sure your email server is working and should send anything sitting in your outbox.
Sound's silly but I also had a similar problem to you, the email would not be sent by clicking send in the actual message and would just go to the outbox, try the send/receive button on the main toolbar as described. Worked for me.
