EMAIL problems not opening

EMAILS REFUSE TO OPEN AGAIN,
I contacted my I.S.P and the message I got was the following go to i/e &open tools select internet option, then select security tab,& open then select custom level which I DID, next in the COOKIES section click on the enable radio button for both options, ?I dont see any mention of cookies within this box ? or mention of radio button, AM I looking in the wrong box ? or is there another name for COOKIES,/
THE message in the box was ACTIVEX CONTROLS PLUG-INS.
ENABLE, DISABLE, PROMPT. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE.? ? ? ?

Are you running Internet security programs if so is it Norton? if so I may be able to assist as I had a similar problem

I have tried to open again my emils this time there is this message which I have hadbefore, SERVER haS TERMINATED THIS CONNECTION ETC, 127.0.0.1 PROTOCOL POP3 PORT 110 SECURERS (SSL) ERROR NU = 0X800CCCOF.
I suspect it may have something to do with this newanti virus programme I only installed it approx 3months ago and I have been having some glitches with it,I may have to try another a/v programme, ? ?this was a free download.
