The safest way is to enter the name of the software in Edit/Find. each time you click find next it will take you to a key which you can remove. This method may not remove every single instance of the software (extentions, for example), but will remove enough so that a piece of crappy shareware will not come back to haunt you. Remember to check win.ini and system.ini as well.

Does anyone know of a registry editor that works in the DOS environment? at the moment I have a major problem with trying to run Win98, windows initialization fails because some virtual device drivers or their associated Apps cannot be found. Problem may result from incomplete deleting of Apps before PC was upgraded to Win98. Certainly Dr Solomons virus checker was active before upgrade (ios.vxd I think is associated with that).
