Howdy AL!

You should be able to edit .exe files with a hex editor. I use WinHex. You can download it from...

Hope this helps!

G'day Al, using a Hex Editor might not be sufficient and could result in some damage to the file, depending on what you want to edit.

What you might want to use is a Resource Editor such as Exescope or Reshacker. These programs can get into an *.exe files resouces such as ;

icons, bitmaps, dialog boxes, strings [text] for dialogs, menu items, registry install keys, *.avi files, cursors, *.gif files, *.html files etc.., depending on what it contains. These resouces can be replaced, re-sized, re-worded, re-positioned and/or removed and even tested before applying changes.

These programs DO NOT allow for code changes such as function calls [can be viewed but not edited]. Some programs can also have their form [main window] modified as well.

Other file-types that can be modified by resource editors are;

*.cpl,*.dll,*.scr,*.ocx,*.vbx

Hope this was even more helpful
