Comment:

I am trying to burn DVD-R discs at 4 and 2 speed, using my NEC DVD RW ND-2500A burner, but every now and again I get a message saying "power calibration error". This happens whether I use Ulead or Nero software. Then the next time I try to burn a disc it normally works okay.

Does anybody know what the problem is and how I can get around this?

Thanks

Power calibration error

Try a different brand of media.

I too agree with ham30. I have a older ND 1000A which has given me similar errors with offbrand media.

Try and stick with name brand media and you should be ok.
