Can DVD's be used like cd-rw's? That is, the contents of a DVD disc can be manipulated in the same way a hard disk, floppy disk, or USB flash drive might be? Where you can add and delete files like a hard drive? Thanks Paul

"First off you will need DVD-RW/DVD+RW Media"
This is not completely accurate. You need DVD -RW or DVD +RW Media to match your DVD Burner. Example If you have a DVD +RW Burner and you try to use DVD -RW in it it will not work!!
I Have a DVD + & - RW Burner so it will take both types of DVD Disks. I use Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 to do what you are wanting to do. This software came with the DVD Burner!

Easy CD Creator, the version I use anyway, has a function call a directcd utility. It lets you format in my case a cd-rw. The disk now can be written to and files deleted like it is done on a floppy disk.

Well, not exactly, but something like that - if rewriteable DVDs are anything like their CD counterparts, then writng will probably be pretty slow (*much* slower than writing to a hard drive or USB stick)
