Windows 98. While using Dial Up Networking, modem connects, after verification, it disconnects with error 745. The message indicates that a file may be missing, and to reinstall.
I have reinstalled DUN, but continue to get the same message.

Howdy, Ok. That error message is supposed to mean that a file is missing and to reinstall DUN. I know you said you reinstalled it but how? I recommend you go to add/remove programs/windows setup/double click on communications and remove the check mark from DUN, click ok, then apply, once its done, click ok, close ctrl pnl and restart the system...Once it comes back up, go to you're network properties and make sure nothing is listed then repeat the steps to ad it back, this process normaly does not add back client for MS networks, which is not a needed but is needed if you want the save password opition to be present. You also might consider scanreg /restore from a DOS prompt if you can and try restoring the registry to before the problem happened but if it is a file missing, this will not help you out. Anymore info you can give will help.

For previous CompuServe users, also check for two items in the Add/Remove programs area that need to be removed:
Compuserve Navigator PPP (this may also be called "Compuserve Internet Services for PPP")
RPADLL
Then check the TCP/IP protocol gateway and make sure it is blank.
